Goals and Objectives

We believe that individuals, families and communities can improve their quality of life and reach their full potential if given timely support for health, education and living conditions. We aim to improve underprivileged communities by providing on-going health screenings, skills and job training, and the restoration of community centers.

Health

Touch of Color-Vision Spring partnership has a goal to make the state of Punjab refractive-error free in the next 7 years.

Touch of Color, in partnership with Vision Spring, is holding eye camps in different districts of Punjab. We ended the year 2022 with 15,500 screenings in the districts of Sangrur and Barnala. We also have a medical clinic in the village of Lasara and hold health screening camps there from time to time.

Education

We have set up an MJ-Scholarship four-year degree program at Chitkara University, Punjab which is given to a qualified student from Lasara each year.

We are also working on various educational projects throughout the State of Punjab. In our ancestral village of Lasara, we have set up a guidance center where we hold on-going English classes for adults and children.

Painting

Every year Touch of Color undertakes one painting and restoration project, either in the U.S. or India.

In 2019, we painted and provided restoration work at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. In 2020, we have renovated and added a medical clinic at the Guidance Center in Lasara, Punjab. In 2022, we repainted and repaired the Ignite Community UMC Church in Kenilworth, New Jersey.

VisionSpring Is Making Clear Vision Possible for Everyone

We awaken a world of earning, learning and beauty through eyeglasses. Why Eyeglasses? Eyeglasses are a powerful tool for social and economic development and personal well-being. And yet, 2.7 billion people need and do not have this 700-year-old technology. This is a problem with a solution hiding in plain sight. Studies confirm what we instinctively know to be true. Eyeglasses increase productivity, sustain income earning potential, enhance learning, and make people safer on the roads and in their homes. With eyeglasses, people can see well and do well.
